For the fourth consecutive year MatrikonOPC will be holding a series of OPC hands-on workshops in Europe.
Oil refinery minimizes manual tank measurements
A major European oil company upgraded its refinery as part of a strategy to enhance plant profitability, increase throughput capacity, upgrade product yields and improve on-stream reliability.
The conference's theme "Transforming industrial connectivity" has attracted outstanding interest from the international community of industrial end users, technology vendors, and system integrators.
Scheduled presenters include the OPC Foundation, Microsoft, SAP, Shell Global Solutions and TransAlta Utilities.
Thomas J Burke, OPC Foundation President and Executive Director stated: "Matrikon has been a key vendor in the development and mass adoption of OPC, and has demonstrated leadership in their ability to deliver OPC products and services that set the standard for secure, reliable interoperability".

The goal of the OPC conference is to discuss how OPC and other standards are applied by various industries to achieve full system interoperability, reliability, security, and simplicity.
Users, integrators and vendors will share their best practices for OPC data transfer in maintenance, finance, process and discrete operations.
Presentation content will include case studies and discussions ranging from distributed operations (ie offshore platforms, remote plants, pipelines and utilities) to plant applications (ie HMI, SIS, historian, APC).
