Matrikon launches free OPC utility

Matrikon has unveiled MatrikonOPC Explorer, a free OPC utility for testing and troubleshooting OPC servers and connections.

Unlike other OPC utility clients, MatrikonOPC Explorer installs easily and provides results quickly, thanks to its intuitive user interface and streamlined workflow.

Beyond simple connection testing, it provides advanced functions, including OPC server load testing, identifying secure OPC servers and the ability to connect to them to test for proper configuration.

Included is the MatrikonOPC Simulation Server, an OPC-compliant server that provides simulated data values to an OPC client for testing client functionality.

MatrikonOPC Explorer will tell the user which OPC interfaces are supported in their OPC server.

This will include DA, HDA, Alarms and Events (AandE) and OPC Security.

With the addition of OPC Security, users will now be able to securely log in to access data on their OPC server.
