MB Inspection has been awarded a major three-year contract with options to extend by Shell UK Oil Products.

MB Inspection, one of the UK's leading providers of integrity engineering services and part of the Motherwell Bridge Group, has been awarded a major three-year contract with options to extend by Shell UK Oil Products.

The agreement is to supply NDT and Inspection personnel at Shell's Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, its outlying sites including Shell Lubricants and Shell Haven Bitumen Plant.

Stanlow is the seventh largest refinery in Europe processing 12 million tonnes of crude a year and is also integrated with the adjoining Shell Chemical plants.

In addition to the management, planning and supply of NDT/inspection personnel, additional requirements include for MB Inspection to co-ordinate and develop specialist NDT applications for various plant requirements in conjunction with Shell Stanlow and Shell Global Solutions.

Also during the term of the contract MB Inspection will be integrating its NDT results into Shell's new inspection data management system.

Commenting on the contract award, Alan Hipkiss, MB Inspection's Technical Development Manager, said: "This company has continued to develop and enhance its presence at the majority of the UK refineries and this contract award is a reflection of MB Inspection's commitment to the industry and Shell UK in particular".
