Door stops save on space

A Machine Building Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 25, 2005

Item has developed a neat and simple moulded bracket for machine guard doors that bolts securely into the outer frame, and incorporates two elastomer inserts to dampen the contact as the door closes.

Machine builders very often build machine guards or other enclosures using 40x40 section aluminium profile, and in order to ensure adequate stiffness, will also frame the doors with the same material.

This makes it difficult to fit the necessary door stops, without having also to make time-consuming special mounting brackets.

To solve this problem, Item has developed a neat and simple moulded bracket, which bolts securely into the outer frame, and incorporates two elastomer inserts to dampen the contact as the door closes.

It is very quick to fit, takes up no more space than the usual existing door gap, and incorporates a leading edge to guide the door home.
