Developed to handle aggressive inorganic chemicals such as bleach, nitric acids, hydrochloric acids and sulphuric acids, the Finish Thompson TBP series pump from Michael Smith Engineers has a maximum tube diameter of only 42mm which makes it suitable for use with many types of chemical containers.

Based on pure PVDF/polypropylene materials it will typically find applications in water treatment facilities, swimming pool supply houses, water parks or wherever bleach is used in drums, barrels or other containers.

The TBP pump is designed as an economical, light to medium duty drum pump, suitable for use with containers with small bung openings.

It is available with a choice of electric motors, including splash-proof, totally-enclosed fan-cooled IP54 motors, as well as explosion-proof drives.

There is also the option of a pneumatically powered motor for use where circumstances prohibit the use of electric ones.

All the available motors are certified to CSA or CE requirements.

The pump, which delivers flows up to 75 litres / minute and heads up to a maximum of 12 metres, is capable of handling liquids with viscosities as high as 200 cps and densities of up to 1.4 SG and will operate at temperatures as high as 66C.

When powered by an electric motor, the pumps handle up to 75 litres / minute with a 12m head, while the pneumatic powered version provides a maximum of 50 litres / minute with a head up to 6 metres.

The tubes are made from polypropylene / PVDF, in lengths of 600 mm or 1000 mm.

A graphite-filled seal is incorporated and the shaft which drives the impellor at the bottom of the tube is made from alloy 625, while all the tube internals are in PTFE.

Electric motors, which are available in 115V or 230V single-phase, 50/60 Hz models are equipped with a 4 metre length of electric lead and rated for continuous duty.

The pneumatic version incorporates a silencer and operates from a supply at 80 to 100 PSI at 25 CFM.
