Motors extend drum pump capabilities

A Michael Smith Engineers product story

A 650W motor that produces a maximum 10,000rpm speed has been introduced for the Finish Thompson range of portable drum and barrel emptying pumps.

Available from pump specialists Michael Smith Engineers, the M3V and M5V motors are designed for use with the PF and TBF series drum pumps.

Features include a tool-free motor attachment method whereby the lower section of the motor has a collet style connection.

Operators simply slide the motor onto the pump tube and then rotate a nut to tighten and the pump is ready to use.

Other features include infinitely variable electronic speed control, which means fluid flow can be precisely controlled.

A double-wall motor housing minimises noise and vibration and a downdraft cooling system, which contributes toward extended motor life.

These new options further extend the capabilities of the range of Finnish Thompson drum pumps, which are suitable for transferring liquids, including corrosives, solvents and viscous fluids.

Models are available to handle capacities up to 150l/min and viscosities up to 100,000 centipoise.
