Sim-Step is a complete motion control system, comprising controller, drive and power supply in one package.

Sim-Step is a complete motion control system, comprising controller, drive and power supply in one package.

Easy-to use motion software included in the unit price makes communication to a PC in real time extremely easy, and the ability to store motion sequences for stand-alone operation is ideal for repetitive cycle industrial users.

The unit incorporates 16 user-programmable digital I/Os that can be used to integrate with other machine processes, and so in many cases a separate PLC is not necessary.

Using Mclennan's motion software users can create complex motion programs within an hour of switching on without lengthy training.

All connections to the unit are made via colour-coded connectors using the matching colour-coded leads, making installation extremely simple.

Using the range of standard accessories such as manual jog boxes, junction boxes and I/O breakout boxes the system can simply be plugged together to make multi-axis motion control systems with minimum engineering effort.

Sim-Step is ideally suited to a wide range of size 17, 23 and 34 hybrid stepper motors.

Mclennan 17HS, 23HSX and 34HSX motors provide a choice of torque ratings from 0.08 to 2Nm and operating speeds up to 20,000 steps per second giving 0.9-degree steps for accurate high-resolution positional control.

The motors can be provided with optional encoders and precision planetary gearheads where increased torque up to 80Nm is required.

Sim-Step based systems are not only easy to program, use and install, purchasing is easy as well.

Users simply select the motor and other standard accessories such as cables, junction boxes and jog box etc, and they can be delivered within 48h thanks to Mclennan's comprehensive stock policy that supports the Sim-Step programme.
