Mclennan Servo Supplies has introduced new ratios in to the range of small industrial Planetary Gearheads.

Mclennan Servo Supplies has introduced new ratios in to the range of small industrial Planetary Gearheads.

The MP57 series incorporates NEMA 23 mounting flanges with robust 0.5in diameter keyed shafts, supported on large output bearings allowing high radial and axial loads said the company.

They are rated at up to 30Nm continuous torque, with an intermittent peak of 50Nm being permissible.

Backlash is 20 arc minutes, and efficiency levels of up to 92 per cent can be realised claimed Mclennan.

A range of exact gear ratios from 3:1 to 10,000:1 are available, with the most popular ratios available from stock.

New ratios include 3:1, 7:1, 15:1 and 30:1 with higher ratios also being possible.

There is a range of adaptor designs which make the MP57 suitable for use with all standard servo and stepper motors and many non-standard types too, added the company.

Applications already include precision OEM positioning systems and a number of light industrial special purpose machines, where the combination of precision and low cost combine to make the new series competitive, believes Mclennan.
