MCP Tooling Technologies is holding two free educational seminars aimed at designers and manufacturers.

MCP Tooling Technologies is holding two free educational seminars at its HQ in Stone, Staffordshire, which are aimed at designers and manufacturers.

The first, on Tuesday 22nd November, will explain why vacuum casting is one of the fastest methods of producing prototypes, preproduction or low volume production parts.

It will also look at new associated technologies such as nylon casting, which is already being used in the UK by Ford and Jaguar and by VW in Germany to produce both prototype and production nylon parts without the associated costs and timescales of injection moulding.

This seminar will also include a presentation of MCP's selective laser melting (SLM) process which produces metal parts direct from CT and CAD data in titanium, cobalt chrome and stainless steel.

The second seminar on Wednesday 23rd November looks at how micro and mini-moulding projects can be successfully and economically undertaken using benchtop injection moulders and will have particular appeal for designers and manufacturers of small precision engineered parts from 0.02 to 12g.

The seminars will be presented by members of the MCP team with contributions from external speakers.

Both seminars will contain practical demonstrations on working vacuum casting and benchtop injection moulding equipment.
