Lock coarse and fine travel on
micrometer
The new series DM-L is the first differential micrometer available on the market, where both coarse and fine travel can be locked in place, and is one of two new units from Newport
The new series DM-L is the first differential micrometer available on the market, where both coarse and fine travel can be locked in place This was possible due to a novel designed, stress balanced locking mechanism which reduces the lock induced error to a minimum, while clamping the screw on the non-threaded part from different sides at the same time

Spectra-Physics' Excelsior laser platform includes low-power CW lasers at 375, 405, 440, 473, 488, 505, 532, 561, 594, 635, 785 and 1064nm.
The remaining displacement can be compensated by actuating the fine pitch screw over small angles, providing long term position stability with 0.1um sensitivity.
The new HR series high-resolution micrometer screws achieve twice the sensitivity and resolution performances as classical 0.5 mm pitch, micrometer screws.
They are recommended for all sensitive applications, where accurate position read-out is needed.
The HR series features the same locking mechanism as used on DM-L, that secures the position with negligible displacement during locking.
Both: The 9.5 mm diameter mounting bezel on HR and DM-L is compatible with a large set of Newport translation stages, rotations stages and optical mounts. Request a free brochure from Newport Spectra-Physics ...
