A new table support isolator will simplify the integration of vibration-isolation tables in space-sensitive applications.

The I-2000 Stabilizer features a square cross-section with smaller overall dimensions than previous I-2000 isolators which have used a circular construction.

The new isolator has an industry standard height of 711mm and has a side dimension of 254mm.

The square I-2000 is targeted at demanding OEM applications including semiconductor test and inspection, various types of inteferometery, and sensitive biological applications such as patch/clamp.

It is also available directly to researchers and other end users in applications such as ultrafast laser research, high-resolution microscopy, and optical manipulation.

The square I-2000 Stabilizer is a high-performance, state-of-the-art isolator that provides all the same features and benefits as the existing family of round I-2000 products.

A key to the superior performance of these isolators is Newport's exclusive use of laminar flow damping to deliver greater damping efficiency and superior isolation bandwidth.

This is accomplished by employing thousands of tiny orifices, as opposed to a single macroscopic orifice.

Stability is further enhanced by the I-2000 hybrid chamber design that minimises the air volume between the piston and the damper.

In addition, the use of a trifilar pendulum provides horizontal isolation down to very low frequencies.
