Millennia Prime lasers feature 15W CW output power

A Newport Spectra-Physics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 2, 2009

Newport's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division has introduced the Millennia Prime series of 532nm continuous wave (CW) diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers.

The Millennia Prime lasers are reliable and are backed by an industry-leading two-year standard warranty.

The lasers have CW output power up to 15W, making them ideal for 24/7 applications where uptime is critical, including photovoltaic solar-cell manufacturing, hard disk texturing, semiconductor inspection, material processing and scientific applications such as Ti:Sapphire, dye and solid-state laser pumping.

The Millennia Prime lasers feature low noise of less than 0.04 per cent RMS, excellent pointing stability and are available in six, 10 and 15W versions.

The lasers have a compact footprint, allowing them to be easily integrated into industrial machine tools or used where space is critical.

Millennia Prime lasers use Eternalign permanent optics-mounting technology and long-life Prolite diodes; Newport claims these offer double the life of diodes used in competitive DPSS lasers.

The Millennia Prime lasers will be on display at CLEO / Photonxpo, 2-4 June in Baltimore, Maryland, and at Laser World of Photonics, 15-18 June in Munich, Germany.
