Acrylic tapes suit vehicle applications

A M+C Specialties product story

MandC Specialties' double-coated and pressure-sensitive acrylic foam tapes are available in two designs, both offering outstanding durability, UV resistance and temperature performance.

MandC Specialties offers its high-quality 3M VHB adhesive acrylic tapes for a variety of commercial vehicle applications.

These conformable, double-coated and pressure-sensitive acrylic foam tapes are available in two designs, both offering outstanding durability, UV resistance and temperature performance.

The viscoelastic nature of the VHB high acrylic foam makes it different from other foam types, such as polyethylene, equipping these tapes with energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties.

MandC Specialties' converting abilities can customise the specific design of these VHB tapes for an exceptionally durable, precise fit.

3M VHB transportation tapes are primarily for use on finely abraded substances or surfaces treated with adhesion promoter, and provide excellent adhesion to a range of materials and surfaces that are common in the commercial vehicle industry, such as bare aluminium, bare steel, galvanised steel, painted aluminium panels and fibreglass reinforced plastic panels.

The thicker 3M VHB Commercial Vehicle Tape 4956F is typically used for panel to post attachment, while the thinner, 3M VHB Tape 4941F is ideal for panel to panel attachment at an overlap seam.

MandC Specialties can accommodate all its customer's needs, with customised rolls and precision die cutting, and when applicable, an innovative spooling technique.

The use of spooling during the adhesive application manufacturing process decreases line stoppage during the change of tape rolls, resulting in increased product efficiency.
