Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 4, 2002

A new generation of GageWay interfaces communicate via serial or network connections, feature extensive user configurability, and support digital gages and RS232 devices.

Available from MicroRidge at IMTS 2002 is a new generation of GageWay interfaces that communicate via serial or network connections, feature extensive user configurability, and support digital gages and RS232 devices.

The new GageWay Series includes the first and only interfaces that feature the ability to interface digital gages and serial devices onto local area networks.

The GageWay3 interfaces connect two digital/RS232 inputs.

The GageWay4 interfaces connect two RS232 inputs.

A network output option is available on all of these new interfaces.

The following features are found only on the new GageWay Series of interface solutions: a more advanced method of mixing digital and RS232 devices on the same interface; the ability to connect any serial device without expensive adapter cables; comprehensive Windows-based setup software for the PC that allows extensive GageWay configuration; a direct connect network option; and data parsing that allows users to format the output in the manner they need for their applications.

The next interfaces in the new GageWay series will be released in November 2002.

They will feature the ability to connect four digital/RS232 inputs and will also contain the same setup and output features as the GageWay3 and GageWay4 interfaces.

The MicroRidge family of interface solutions will offer the widest variety of cost effective options for connecting digital/RS232 inputs with direct connect network options.
