MicroRidge has released the GageWay wireless system for Mitutoyo gauges and RS232 devices.

The GageWay wireless system is designed for use on the factory floor, in the lab or any location where you need to connect Mitutoyo gauges (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators etc), or gauges with Mitutoyo compatible output, and RS232 devices to a computer through a wireless connection.

In its simplest form, a wireless data collection system consists of a base unit connected to a PC receiving wireless data from a remote unit, or it can be as complicated as multiple bases receiving data from dozens of remote units.

The primary reasons a company would use a wireless system include: elimination of cumbersome cabling issues; provides the flexibility to conveniently take the gauge to what has to be measured; and to reduce human error by eliminating manual data recording.

The key features of the GageWay wireless system include the following: support for digital gauges and RS232 devices; highly visible user feedback; easy to set up and use; economical to purchase and maintain; works with any computer that has a USB or serial port; integrates with existing gauge interface systems or with any statistical process control (SPC) and data acquisition (DAQ) software; and uses the latest ZigBee wireless technology.
