More than 170 customers attended the latest series of user conferences, held recently by Autodesk solutions provider, Micro Concepts at Thame and the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

The two-day programmes, attended by Autodesk representatives, provided users with a comprehensive overview of Autodesk's strategic direction, focusing on the broader commercial impact and business and technical benefits of the company's software solutions.

A technical update - forming part of Micro Concepts' SSU (subscription support and update) programme - then provided an intensive training programme on the new functionality of the latest Autodesk Inventor 11 software.

"This recognises that achieving real return on investment is not simply about acquiring the software", believes Technical Manager, Graham Harrison, "but in learning what it can do and how to use it".

In particular, Inventor 11 offers a number of modelling and assembly enhancements which allow users be more creative, by enabling them to focus on the quality of engineering design rather than having to learn complex software techniques.

"This year's attendance is even better than with the 140 customers who attended the 2005 conference", says Harrison, "and reflects the close relationships we have developed with our rapidly growing customer base based on our practical approach to manufacturing design".
