The latest versions of TurboCAD focus on bringing both the professional and home user increased power, interoperability and ease of use.

Professional users of CAD software packages, including architects, engineers and designers, will benefit from over 40 new features and significant improvements that have been developed using the latest technology and rigorous research of the demands of existing TurboCAD users.

The aim has been to make working efficiency more accurate and faster whilst maintaining an affordable package accessible to all.

Architects will benefit from a set of new tools including the ability to convert existing lines, polylines and curves into walls in one step and switch between different door and window styles by selecting from a style list.

Roofs now support more complex configurations and roof openings (for skylights etc).

A partnership between IMSI and 1st Pricing also provides the user with access to the 1st Pricing Scheduler, a unique system to drag and drop 1st Pricing's parametric objects into a drawing.

New mechanical design features include the latest and most powerful ACIS V8 solid modelling engine, advanced facet editing to enable the user to freely move, rotate and delete facets of an ACIS object, and an improved part tree to give the user access to the entire history of 3D object creation.

"This version of TurboCAD delivers a suite of improvements and enhancements that let our users do more in less time", says Gordon Landies, President of IMSI.

"We're in a time when design throughput, from concept to finished product, is of greatest value.

By providing productivity enhancements and outstanding features for all of our users, we not only strengthen our ability to keep TurboCAD fans and new users alike on the cutting edge of design but also maintain TurboCAD as the CAD software of choice", continued Landies.

Jo Wood, Managing Director of MediaGold, UK publisher of TurboCAD, added: "Version 9 will reinforce TurboCAD's position in key professional markets.

With the new look, website and reseller programme now launched, we also intend to broaden its appeal to include semi-professionals and hobbyists who would benefit greatly from its enhanced performance and affordability".

TurboCAD v9 and TurboCAD v9 Professional will be available at suggested retail prices of GBP 69.99 and GBP 449.99, respectively.

Current TurboCAD users can purchase upgrades directly from MediaGold or register interest on the TurboCAD website.
