Midwest Motion Products, based in Watertown, Minnesota, has released the MMP-TM55-24VGP52-04.3 DC gear motor.
Accepting any 24VDC source, including battery power, the gear motor measures 2.14in x 6.7in (5.44cm x 17cm) and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm (diameter) x 25mm (length).
Mounting is accomplished with four 'face-mount' M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm Dia BC.
The output of this reversible gear motor is rated for 5in LBS continuous torque at 1,000rpm and 70in LBS peak.
It weighs approximately 3.5lb (1.6kg) and requires 3.6A at 24VDC to generate its full-load torque.
According to the company, this translates into long-life battery charge, very low noise operation and lower costs for related drive electronics.
Motor windings for 12V, 36V, 48V, 60V and 90V are available.
This design is rated at an IP 54 protection level for operation in harsh environments.
Variable speed can be achieved with the company's fully compatible speed controls: Model MMP 25A-24V or MMP 20A-24V-RSP.
Samples are available from stock for rapid prototyping needs.
Typical options available from the company include servo motors with integral optical encoders, failsafe brakes, analogue tachometers and a variety of planetary gearheads, with standard ratios ranging from 3:1 to 2,653:1 and standard- or low-backlash precision gearing available.
The company offers standard ancillary equipment, including DC power supplies, DC servo motors, PWM servo amplifiers, motor speed controls, linear actuators and a range of DC gear motors.
Custom motor shaft and mounting configurations are also available.
Typical applications include battery-operated motors and EV drives, medical products, mobility/accessibility products, robotics and automation products including military unmanned guided vehicles, semiconductor processing equipment, actuators, packaging and labelling machines, woodworking and metalworking machines, dynamic displays for trade shows and other applications requiring precise motion control.
