A Midwest Motion Products product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 21, 2009

Midwest Motion Products has announced the release of a DC gear motor, model MMP-TM55-12V GP57-046.

Accepting any 12V DC source, including battery power, this robust gearmotor measures just 2.24in (max) diameter by 7.2in long, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long.

Mounting is accomplished with four face-mount M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm diameter BC.

The output of this reversible gearmotor is rated for 61lb-in continuous torque at 100rpm, and 320lb-in peak.

The gearmotor weighs about 3lb and requires 7.2A at 12V DC to generate its full load torque.

This means it is able to offer a long-life battery charge, very low noise operation and lower-cost drive electronics.

Motor windings for 24, 36, 48 and 90V are available.

This design is rated at an IP54 protection level for operation in harsh environments.
