Newton House, the new international headquarters of force and torque measurement specialists Mecmesin Limited, was officially opened on 7 July 2000 by Mrs Carolyn Oakley Mecmesin was founded over twenty years ago by the late James Oakley

In those days the headquarters, at Tadworth in Surrey, was a building which formerly had been a dairy.

The R and D department was situated in what was originally the cold store room! The company moved to Broadbridge Heath in West Sussex eighteen years ago, and since then, under the management of James' son Robert, has grown to become Europe's largest designer and manufacturer of force gauges, with over 70% of output being exported.

At the end of May this year the company re-located to 17,000 ft2 premises recently constructed on a 'brown-field' site at Slinfold in West Sussex.

Newton House will provide a threefold increase in manufacturing capacity.

Research, design and development facilities will also be substantially improved.

The facilities at Newton House will provide the basis for the consolidation and expansion planned by the current directors under the leadership of David Halsey.

Throughout the world quality control departments use Mecmesin force and torque measurement instruments and systems to evaluate manufactured products, components and materials; this equipment is relied upon both by specifiers and manufacturers.

Mecmesin's application engineers will continue to offer a complete 'concept to realisation' service to customers who require test systems designed to meet their precise individual requirements. Request free introductory details about products from Mecmesin ...
