Force tester monitors plush toy safety
Carte Blanche Greetings is using a Mecmesin force gauge system to test its range of plush toys to European toy safety standards.
Carte Blanche Greetings, a supplier of plush giftware, is using a Mecmesin force gauge system to test its range of plush toys The company's plush toy products are manufactured to European toy safety standard BS EN71.1:1998 (Safety of toys - Part 1: Mechanical and physical properties), and to meet this standard small parts attached to the plush must withstand a 90N tension test

The force gauge system used to test the plush toys consists of a MDD manual test stand, an AFG 250N digital force gauge and a variety of fixtures, suitable for testing a wide variety of plush toy shapes and sizes.
This system enables Carte Blanche Greetings to determine that the small parts on the plush toys can resist a specified force, meeting the requirements of the European toy safety standard and assisting in product design.
