Mechsoft.com releases new technology at NDES - new Behavioral Optimizer product to optimize mechanical calculations while preserving the engineer's design intent.

MechSoft.com releases a new Behavioral Optimizer product MechSoft.com develops and markets mechanical design automation software and productivity tools that have become the de-facto standard for superior mechanical engineering content

"This new state of the art solution promises to be revolutionary technology that will optimize mechanical calculations while preserving the engineers design intent." said Steve Vidal, President of MechSoft.com.

The Behavioral Optimizer is an optional module synchronized to work with all of the mechanical calculations within the MechSoft.com base product.

The Behavioral Optimizer module works in conjunction with the Group Manager to automate the process of design iterations.

Usually an assembly has input parameters such as part dimensions, material constants, etc.

These input parameters affect output properties, such as: assembly volume, total mass, surface area, price, centre of mass, etc.

There are situations when a designer needs to reverse this evaluation process for an assembly - to search for input relevant to the required output.

In these cases, for example, you could input the centre the mass and seek the part dimensions that would ensure a given volume and minimum surface area, or you could choose a gearing to fit the safety criteria and to also meet some dimensional or mass requirements.

Even with a relatively simple assembly, it could take time to manually seek the solution.

With MechSoft.com's Behavioral Optimizer, you can define the criteria and limits in order to search for the proper combinations of the input parameters.

Since the Group Manager can use different objects, this method can be applied to CAD models as well as to any other object within an assembly.

The solved assembly can include standard parts, standard mechanical engineering calculations, user-defined models, or user defined calculations created using MS Excel.

Therefore, the Behavioral Optimizer is not limited in function to the models and objects of only the MechSoft.com application.

MechSoft.com base product includes the power of five specific applications: Calculations; the Calculation-Driven Parts Generator; Mechsoft.com's Million-Unit Standard Part Library, the On-line Engineers Handbook and the Group Manager.

MechSoft.com allows users to employ a large library of calculations - representing standard mathematical formulae and physical theories - to automatically create mechanically correct parts and utilize knowledge based engineering principles.

Within the Group Manager mechanical engineering attributes like power, speed, torque, material properties, working temperatures and lubrication conditions are all stored as part of the assembly.

From within CAD system, MechSoft.com determines, tracks and ensures the design feasibility of parts and their functional relationships within the assembly.

By employing a graphical user interface that applies rules, MechSoft.com becomes very intuitive even for the occasional user.

MechSoft.com's intelligent parts library is not only parametric, but also intelligent.

MechSoft.com's technology can automatically select the correct hardware based on the appropriate part standard.

Also, the parts library has been synchronized to take full advantage of the Group Manger technology.

Within the MechSoft.com Million-Unit Standard Parts Library, is the Parts Wizard.

The user Friendly Parts Wizard can create and populate new company standards or add to existing international standards.

Any user defined or third party parametric part can be imported as an intelligent part into any standard.

Part to part synchronization can happen automatically, while preserving user defined features.

The On-line Engineering Handbook documents the formulae, algorithms and theory that follow a calculation.

Each calculation is described in detail, including the mathematical formulas, explanation of variables, tables and charts for the selection of the correct coefficients and material property tables with their allowable values.

Each calculation also has examples of the most commonly used tasks.

Intelligently manages the functional intent of an assembly, tracking the links between all of the parts, assembly calculations and individual part functions.

MechSoft.com's Group Manager acts as a map, graphically representing both a design's components and its functions.

During the design process, the Group Manager evaluates parts, calculations and relationships to determine mechanical feasibility.

In the revision process, the Group Manager identifies possible failures, makes recommendations based on standard mechanical laws and parts, and can quickly propagate user-approved revisions throughout the design.
