Mettler introduces process control system

A Mettler Toledo product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 29, 2009

Mettler Toledo has launched an intelligent system for advanced process control, the M400 Type 1 Cond Ind transmitter.

The M400 transmitter series features ISM technology and covers pH/ORP, pH ISFET, oxygen, dissolved carbon dioxide and conductivity measurements.

With the launch of a dedicated M400 Type 1 version for inductive conductivity measurement, the series is extended.

Thanks to the mixed-mode input functionality, the M400 accepts conventional (analogue) inductive conductivity sensors or ISM sensors for pH/ORP.

The transmitter allows enhanced measurement accuracy, thanks to the extended options for temperature compensation and implemented chemical concentration curves.

Compatibility with third-party inductive sensors eases replacement of transmitters in existing plants.

The M400 Type 1 Cond Ind transmitter also features advanced diagnostics for sensor troubleshooting: the dynamic lifetime indicator (DLI) tells when the sensor needs to be replaced; the adaptive calibration timer (ACT) monitors the time to next calibration; traceability support is provided by a built-in CIP/SIP counter and calibration history.

With predictive diagnostics, maintenance is simplified, schedulable and more efficient, vital in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage industries.

The Plug and Measure feature allows the system to be ready for measurement within seconds, minimising maintenance costs.
