Mega Electronics has developed a sublimation printing system which provides a cost-effective way to produce front panels, signs and labels on a variety of substrates in full colour.

The new system, which is ideally suited to in-house "one off" to medium-quantity production of industrial signs, nameplates and labels, is based on special inks and substrates which allow the user's own design - produced using special release paper on a low-cost ink-jet colour printer - to be transferred directly into the surface of the material using a simple heating press.

Because the image is actually embedded in the surface of the substrate, no over-lamination is necessary.

The equipment is simple to use, and a printed substrate can be produced within 2-3min.

The system can be used on a variety of materials, including glass fibre, polyester, polycarbonate, aluminium-coated and magnetic sheets.

In addition, Mega's patented ano-transfer subsurface anodised aluminium sheets allow the image to be sealed under the surface for complete durability against solvents and scratching.

Typical applications include safety signs, control panels, nameplates, barcode labels, touch membranes and computer mouse mats.

A startup package costs less than GBP 1000.
