ProfiBus process field bus interface cards are now being offered as standard options by Meiden Europe for its range of VT230S multi-mode vector drives.

This slave-station, plug-in option is available for all models in the VT230S range (0.4kW to 45kW const.

torque/0.4 to 55kW variable torque - and extending up to 370kW in August, 660kW by October), expanding application options right across industry into areas where device and/or system communication is demanded.

Other add-on options for the VT230S drives are encoder feedback cards, parallel and serial communication cards, relay interface and external braking resistors.

With its multi-mode capability, and IP54 detachable keypad with rotating knob for easier and faster parameter setting, the Meiden VT230S vector drive operates as either a V/F drive with advanced torque control or high performance sensorless vector drive.

But add an encoder and it becomes a closed-loop flux vector drive and a servo drive for permanent magnet motors.
