Memsic's new IC design centre in Chicago is designed to help the company target the consumer, industrial and automotive markets.

Memsic, a leading provider of CMOS-based MEMS accelerometers/motion sensors, has opened an IC design centre in Chicago, Illinois to focus on the next generation of new products.

Memsic is penetrating into diverse markets through new product development due to its fast growth in accelerometer revenue and profit.

In an effort to meet the high demands of the fast paced consumer, industrial and automotive markets, Memsic's new design centre in Chicago will focus on broadening the Memsic line of low-cost and high-performance products.

Dr Yang Zhao, Chief Executive Officer, said: "With the fast growth and success of our current accelerometer business, Memsic is on its way to grow into a company with diversified product lines that addresses the market needs in various low cost and high performance ICs".

Memsic is preparing to launch multiple products designed at the Chicago design centre in 2006.
