New "pick-to-light" display and control technology, available in the UK from Metrix Electronics, has been extended to cover cold storage applications down to minus 30C.

The modular Mipick system offers flexible and cost-effective stock picking solutions.

It enables manual picking to be fully integrated into existing or new computer-controlled product handling applications.

The Mipick concept is simple, paperless and highly efficient.

Each module has a lamp to show which items are to be picked, a numeric display to show what quantity and a push-button to confirm that the item has been picked.

The robust aluminium modules are only 160 x 60mm and just 30mm deep.

They are available in range of anodised fascia colours, with either red or green numeric LEDs.

The display format can be customised for different applications.

Modules are easy to connect to a 115Kbyte RS485 databus and 12V DC power supply.

Up to 1984 modules can be linked to a Profibus-DP master, and standard solutions can be expanded to 3968 modules.

Metrix Electronics is the exclusive UK agent for Microsyst Systemelectronic .

Peter Rummer, MD commented: "Microsyst have over 16 years experience in state-of-the-art industrial display systems and interfaces".

"This expertise is available to implement and support Mipick 'pick-to-light' warehousing systems".
