Metrix analogue meters resist shock to EN 60 051

A Metrix Electronics product story

Metrix Electronics has brought out rugged analogue meters that use stepper-motor technology.

They resist shock and vibration to EN 60 051 standards and are particularly suitable for marine and transportation use.

Applications include thrust direction, rudder position, propeller adjustment, RPM, temperature and speed.

They are housed in 72, 96 or 144mm square DIN-size panel-mounting cases with a choice of 270 or 360-degree pointer mechanisms.

Both the scale and pointer can be illuminated with adjustable brightness.

Typical units have a 4-20mA input range, while the scales can be customised to suit the user's application.

They can be user programmed via the built-in USB port.

The stepping motor drive gives a 0.083 degree (4320 step) resolution, 1.5 second response (360 degrees) and a class 0.5 per cent accuracy.

The auxiliary power-supply voltage is 18 to 36V DC and power consumption is less than 1.5V A.

Operating temperature range is -25C to +55C.
