MTS test kit checks Temposonics position sensors

A test kit is now available from MTS for the quick functional testing of the off-highway M-Series Temposonics position sensors.
The cylinder manufacturer can now ensure quality by performing a functional check on the completed cylinder sensor assembly after integration of the sensor into the hydraulic cylinder and prior to delivery to the customer.
Testing may also be performed by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) on the completed off-highway machine.
This portable battery-powered test kit has been developed for Temposonics sensors with analogue or PWM outputs.
While performing a functional check, the test kit powers the sensor and completely isolates it from the machine, eliminating other potential areas of fault that can lead to a perfectly functioning sensor being declared defective by mistake.
For example, if the trouble is a result of faulty cabling or if it is in the control system, the sensor can be excluded from troubleshooting immediately.
Evidences of proper sensor operation will save time and cost during the troubleshooting process, according to the company.
The test kit is delivered ready for connection and can be used easily at the manufacturer's site.
It includes a display that reports the position value.
A charger, connecting cables and a carrying bag are also included with the equipment supplied.
