Moldflow Corp has announced a new initiative to grow its business throughout Eastern Europe and South America by the appointment of two sales managers in those regions.

For the Baltic States, Hungary, Poland and Russia, Gerd Over has been appointed Territory Manager for Moldflow Design Analysis Solutions.

He will be travelling throughout the region to support channel sales, educate the press, hold events, and visit customers and prospects.

He will be based out of Moldflow's office in Huerth-Efferen, Germany.

According to Andreas Schmedding, Design Analysis Solutions Regional Sales Director for Central Europe: "The plastics industry is very dynamic in Eastern Europe as it is supported by the high demand for automotive and electronic components".

"Intense global competition has led to the development of high end engineering expertise in Eastern Europe, related to the design and manufacture of plastic parts".

"To better support our customers, Moldflow will provide training and technical support in local languages, as well as build strong relationships with talented direct and indirect partners, who are already familiar with the local markets".

For Latin America, Mexico, and all of South America, Mark Oleson will have similar duties including software distribution, publicity, trade shows, sales and customer service.

Glenn E Sipe, VP Sales, Design Analysis Solutions Americas commented: "In the past few years there has been steady growth in the plastics industry in Latin and South America".

"We have recognised a trend of regional and multinational companies implementing new technologies to accommodate the demand in the consumer, automotive, medical and electronic industries".

"To help meet this demand as well as the requirements of our growing customer base, we are expanding our direct and indirect channels, while intensifying our efforts to provide localisation of products, support and training".
