MPA products allow Moldflow customers to predict and avoid injection moulding manufacturing problems in the earliest stages of product development.

AES Molds, a growing mould tooling and engineering solutions provider based in Marinha Grande, Portugal, recently invested in Moldflow Plastics Advisers (MPA) products The investment allows AES to expand its service offerings to include mould validation through the use of simulation and adds to its experience in mould design engineering and injection moulding processing

MPA products allow Moldflow customers to predict and avoid injection moulding manufacturing problems in the earliest stages of product development, when the cost of change is lowest and the impact on manufacturability is highest.

AES purchased three MPA modules - Mold Adviser, Performance Adviser and the Cooling Circuit Adviser - which together will allow AES to validate and optimise part geometry, make mould design decisions such as to determine the best injection locations, analyse mould filling characteristics to predict potential problems and evaluate alternative solutions, as well as design and optimise mould cooling circuits.

Jocelyne Marinaro, Moldflow's Sales Director for Western Europe explains, "We view AES Molds' investment in Moldflow as a beneficial move for both companies".

"AES can now predict and solve potential manufacturing problems early in product development, thereby saving their customers considerable time and money".

She continued, "For Moldflow, it further validates our position as the leading provider of injection moulding simulation software in a growing region for us, and we look forward to supporting AES Molds".

Rui Marques, President of AES Molds, explains, "With MPA, we can combine our experience and knowledge of tool building with the verification capability of Moldflow".

He continued, "Ultimately, our customers will be able to better understand the tooling and injection moulding process before the mould is built and we will be able to minimise the qualification time and improve product quality".
