Modular construction for valve islands

Two new innovative series have been added to the range of Multimach valves from Metal Work.
The HDM (Heavy Duty Multimach) and CM (Clever Multimach) feature unbeatable modularity - islands of up to 24 valves can be formed by adding or removing any number of valves without having to replace any of the components.
Multimach islands can combine valves of any flow rate: 200 litre/min for 4mm-diameter pipe; 500 litre/min for 6mm pipe; and 800 litre/min for 8mm pipe.
The new Heavy Duty Multimach (HDM) series has been designed specifically for applications in which the valve island must feature high mechanical resistant.
Each valve is enclosed in a protective shell made of reinforced plastic that protects it from impact and dirt.
The class of protection is IP65.
The external configuration is so smooth and rounded, with no recesses or cavities at all, that the HDM is ideal for use in the food industry, where frequent washing is necessary without leaving any residue.
The materials used, including the grease, are completely nontoxic.
The solenoid pilot gives an exceptional performance: the valve is actuated by an electronic speed-up system that provides a current peak for a few milliseconds and then stabilises at very low voltages.
This has two advantages: the actuation response time is a mere 5ms, a record for 800 litre/min valves; and the absorbed power is only 0.15W, which means absolutely no heating.
The mode of connection can be PNP or NPN and no settings are required.
The new Clever Multimach (CM) series has everything the HDM has plus it is clever and can be expanded: on each valve the system signals whether the command is active, whether a contact is broken and whether a pilot has short-circuited.
The numbering of the pilots can be selected by the customer, progressive from left to right or to ISO326.
There are additional input and output modules with M8 or M12 connectors that are integrated in the island.
The connectors are parallel to the pneumatic fittings to allow an orderly layout of cables and pipes and also minimum dimensions.
The Clever Multimach is ideal for anyone needing to divide the island in two to have the valves closer to the actuators.
The two items can be linked by an ordinary cable for serial transmission.
The Clever Multimach does not require a Fieldbus connection: there are two 25-pin cup connectors, one for the valves and one for the inputs, protected by an IP65 shell.
If the customer requires a Fieldbus connection, the conversion is easier because the island already has serial transmission.
