EPDM seals provide compatibility with Skydrol to type V, LD4, 500B4 and Hyjet, the standard hydraulic fluids used in aviation manufacture.
ATEX certification for servo and servo-proportional valves used in explosionproof environments will be obligatory from 1st June 2003 in the European Union.
Moog has also received FM certification (Class 1, Division 1, Group B, C, D) for the D633K and D634K direct drive valve series (DDV).
FM certification is used in the USA for explosionproof environments.
With both of these certificates, Moog can offer a servo and proportional valve portfolio for explosionproof environments from sizes NG 6 with 2-16 litre/min nominal flow up to NG 25 with 550 litre/min nominal flow.
"This certification offers our customers the highest level of confidence in the safety of our products in potentially hazardous environments", said Mark Ludlow, Product Design Engineer, Moog Industrial Controls Division.
Moog also offers a full line of ATEX, FM and CSA approved intrinsically safe mechanical feedback servo valves for potentially explosive atmospheres including the 72K, 78K, 730K, 743K, 760K, G761K and G77XK series.
Other explosion-proof products offered are G493 brushless servomotors with ATEX approval (EEx d IIC T4 and T6) and the G493K electromechanical actuator series, which is pending ATEX/CSA certification for multiple stack lengths, standard shaft or ballscrew output and various cable entries (European style, NPT conduit box, compound sealed).
This extensive explosion-proof and intrinsically safe product line is ideal for use in gas, steam, and aeroderivative turbines, as well as other industries with potentially hazardous environments such as offshore marine. Request a free brochure from Moog Controls ...
