Valves gain ATEX ceretification
Moog has received ATEX certification for several of its top-selling explosionproof servo valves, servo-proportional valves and IS solenoids.
Expertise in motion control for plastic machines and access to a portfolio of high performance components in all three technologies (electric, hydraulic and combined hydraulic-electric) has enabled Moog's engineers to create new, innovative solutions that will be featured in the booth.
Four primary demonstrations are planned as follows: a working prototype of the BM-Hlt77045708, Moog's new electrohydraulic radial piston pump (RKP) with fieldbus interface and embedded axis controller; an operational model of the PowerShot injection system, a hybrid solution for precision control of the injection axis of large and medium tonnage machines; the new generation TMC total machine controller for blow moulding machines and electric parison and blow pin actuators; and customised electric solutions featuring water-cooled servomotors.
Moog will have a team of experts in plastics applications from the Americas, Asia and Europe on hand to discuss new projects and opportunities with plastics companies.
"Moog will be displaying some of the most innovative solutions in the plastics market today", said Achim Walter, European Marketing Manager, Moog.
Our world-class injection and blow moulding knowhow and experience in electric, hydraulic and hybrid technologies enables us to partner with our customers to develop the best-in-industry solutions for each application".

The high-performance, flexible microprocessor control system design makes this pump the ideal solution for a variety of pressure and volumetric flow control systems.
This pump can function as an analogue "plug and play" device controlled by purely analogue command signals for flow and pressure.
Using an additional 0-10V signal, the user can select from 16 parameter sets to adapt the pump behaviour to the different operational conditions, which occur in a complete machine cycle.
Within each parameter set, the user can adjust the pressure regulator and various operational modes (master-slave, hybrid) as well as select one out of two pressure sensors.
These 16 parameter sets are predefined ex-works, but may also be easily modified using the Moog Valve Configuration Software setup tool to meet specific customer needs.
For maximum flexibility, the pump can also be digitally controlled via the CANOpen interface, thereby offering the full range of functionality.
With PDO mapping, in-depth online diagnosis capabilities and full access to all internal parameters during runtime, the available options are revolutionary.
: Moog will show an operational model of the PowerShot BM-Hlt77048168 injection system that combines the best of electric and hydraulic technologies.
This compact unit can be installed easily and adapted to a wide variety of force, speed, and torque requirements.
This unique technology is designed for demanding injection moulding applications that require operating at high speeds and/or forces, and precise control.
This system combines an electric actuator coupled to a sealed hydraulic system to provide precise control of clamp opening/closing, tonnage build and mould break.
This system combines the modularity, repeatability and quietness of an electric system, with the high force of a hydraulic system, in a package that is energy-efficient and scaleable to a wide variety of machine sizes.
The company will also show a working demonstration of the newest generation TMC total machine controller as the solution for total axis control, offering high performance, high reproducibility and high consistency of quality in blow moulding applications.
This flexible machine controller provides closed-loop control via an easy-to-use visualisation for main functions such as wall thickness, weight, temperature, motion and other measured values.
All major operating sequences of the primary functions are programmed to be ready to use.
The new TMC can also be customised for a specific application easily.
The remote diagnostics control feature provides rapid troubleshooting to minimise downtime and enables the acquisition of important operating and machine data.
Also featured are electric parison and blow pin actuators.
With extensive experience in both hydraulic and electric technologies, Moog is uniquely able to help customers find the right solution for their machine needs.
One of Moog's most popular solutions for plastic machinery is a special water-cooled screw servomotor that can be customised in many ways to meet the needs of all-electric or hybrid applications.
Moog also has one of the largest ranges of servomotors and servo drives for injection moulding machines up to 500t.
In addition to previewing its system solutions, Moog will be announcing a number of new products for the plastics industry.
The D941 series digital interface pQ valve has microprocessor based electronics and a CANOpen fieldbus for controlling pressure and pressure limiting applications.
This new valve replaces analogue technology and offers configurable functions that enable customers to define the dynamic behaviour of the valve and adapt its characteristics to particular application requirements, while providing high-precision digital flow and pressure control.
State-of-the art functionality, such as diagnostic capabilities, integrated monitoring of key environmental and internal characteristics, and valve parameter modification, can be accessed on-site or remotely.
The DS2100 is a new fully digital servo drive that was developed as an extension of Moog's successful DS2000 range of digital servo controllers.
Like the DS2000, the DS2100 provides full digital control of brushless servomotors and delivers a technologically advanced system with excellent cost, performance, reliability and flexibility.
The DS2100 uses high power microprocessors to deliver significantly increased current, velocity, and position performance that is demanded by many modern applications.
In addition to increased performance, the DS2100 also provides a full range of interfaces to servomotors, feedback devices and higher-level controllers.
The new four-channel/400-point, Modular Parison Controller controls continuous extrusion machines and position based accumulator head machines through an operator interface panel (TFT colour LCD, 640 x 480pixel, VGA resolution).
This controller is based on Moog's well-known 400 series modular controller.
It is easy to use and functions such as profile, parison wall thickness and weight can be easily and quickly programmed.
The marker points are done with digital outputs, which makes synchronising with machine cycle easy and effective.
Even the calibration is user friendly as the customer can choose between automatic or manual calibration. Request a free brochure from Moog Controls ...
