DuraForm HST Plastic suits applications that require improved strength, higher stiffness and elevated temperature resistance.

3D Systems has released DuraForm HST Plastic, a strong, temperature-resistant rapid manufacturing material for use in its Sinterstation HiQ SLS Systems.

DuraForm HST (high strength and temperature) Plastic is an engineered material for applications that require improved strength, higher stiffness and elevated temperature resistance.

With more cost-effective pricing than carbon-fibre filled materials and better recyclability than other competitive materials, DuraForm HST is a cost-effective solution for both engineering applications and general purpose use.

DuraForm HST offers good accuracy and repeatability in all directions.

This white-coloured material is easy to process, resulting in parts with excellent surface detail.

Processors performing secondary sanding or machining operations can expect to experience nice results with minimal effort.

As this nonconductive material is RF-transparent, aerospace and motor sports customers concerned about faraday cage effects have embraced this material.

Applications include UAV components, housings and enclosures and low to mid-volume manufactured parts.

"DuraForm HST Plastic for the Sinterstation HiQ SLS system is the latest example of our focused drive and determination to bring additive manufacturing technology onto the manufacturing floor", said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' President and Chief Executive Officer.

"We expect that this new, tough, strong and temperature-resistant rapid manufacturing material will help accelerate the adoption of our expertly integrated, cost-effective and flexible rapid manufacturing solutions".
