High-throughput 3D printer provides the choice of both high-definition and ultra-high-definition build modes in a single system.

3D Systems Corp is set to launch its ProJet HD3000 3D production system at SolidWorks World 2008 in San Diego, California.

This new 3D production system is a next generation 3D printer based on 3D Systems' patented and proprietary multijet modelling (MJM) technology.

This high-throughput 3D printer provides best-in-class part quality and accuracy.

It also provides the choice of both high-definition and ultra-high-definition build modes in a single system.

The easy-to-use ProJet 3D production system is ideal for a wide range of uses, including concept development, design validation, form and fit analysis, production of moulding and casting patterns, direct investment casting of jewellery and other fine feature applications.

3D Systems' extensive VisiJet Materials' portfolio, including direct-investment castable materials, is designed for use with the new ProJet 3D production system, opening new frontiers of manufacturing productivity for a variety of producers.

With its large build volume and unique part stacking and nesting capabilities, this new system enables extended unattended operation that is ideal for overnight and weekend production runs.

The performance of the ProJet HD3000 3D production system is enhanced through the incorporation of 3D Systems' innovative ProJet Accelerator software that provides extensive build management, part editing and automatic support generating tools.

The ProJet HD3000 3D production system delivers unmatched part quality.

Combined with its unique hands-free support removal, this new system facilitates the production of precision parts and patterns with finer feature detail and superior surface quality.

"Exceptional productivity and performance were the defining objectives for our new ProJet 3D production system", says Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' President and Chief Executive Officer.

"Responding to specific customer requests and clear emerging marketplace trends, we are enormously proud to deliver such a versatile system, one capable of continuous production of precision parts as well as of machine tool quality direct castable patterns".

"The introduction of this high fidelity 3D printer underscores our commitment to expand our participation in this segment of the marketplace".

"We believe that our new ProJet HD3000 3D production system will contribute favourably to our revenue and profitability goals for 2008 and beyond".

3D Systems plans to showcase the system in Booth 300 at SolidWorks World 2008 from 20th to 23rd January 2008, in San Diego, California, and in Booth 3513 at the Pacific Design and Manufacturing Show from 29th to 31st January 2008, in Anaheim, California.

The ProJet 3D production system will be available to customers worldwide beginning in March 2008.
