The ProJet SD 3000 printer is designed to provide high-quality parts with exceptionally smooth surfaces and unmatched small feature detail.

3D Systems has announced the immediate availability of its affordable high-definition ProJet SD 3000 3D printer for professional in-office model-making by design and manufacturing businesses of all sizes.

Using 3D Systems' patented and proprietary multi-jet modelling (MJM) technology, the ProJet SD 3000 printer is designed to provide high-quality parts with exceptionally smooth surfaces and unmatched small feature detail, ideal for concept development, design verification, form-fit testing and product presentations.

3D Systems' exclusive MJM "hands-free" support material offers easy support removal for even the most delicate part features that could be damaged by other support material technologies.

Designed for on-site, on-demand rapid fabrication, the ProJet SD 3000 system uses a single-pass printhead design that affords best-in-class production speed for large footprint parts or full platform builds of smaller parts.

This new 3D printer is designed to be used right in the design office with clean, quiet operation using standard office electrical power to make fully cured plastic parts that are safe for handling right out of the machine.

The ProJet SD 3000 printer is an ideal modelling system for consumer products, designer packaging, electronic components, medical devices and study models, and apparel accessories.

Design and engineering educational programs, especially those requiring the capability to produce complex geometries, can also benefit from this economical 3D printer.

"As a leading provider of high-quality office and desktop 3D printers, we are excited to bring to market the third 3D Printer that we have introduced this year based on our proprietary jetting technology", said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' President and Chief Executive Officer.

"This new, affordable 3D printer is designed to enable more designers, engineers and architects to cost-effectively convert their CAD designs into physical 3D models and benefit from high-definition additive fabricating capabilities directly in their offices".
