MGE UPS is enhancing and strengthening its customer-centric approach with the appointment of Darrell Smithson as Director of Sales and Robert Miller as Director of Operations.

As the UPS market experiences a growth revival, MGE UPS, the UK's biggest manufacturer of large power protection equipment, is enhancing and strengthening its customer-centric approach with the appointment of Darrell Smithson as Director of Sales and Robert Miller as Director of Operations MGE UPS UK MD Andy Taylor explains: "Although we have a very good reputation for both products and service, that doesn't mean we can stand still"

"Market conditions are always changing, and our response is to try even harder to say 'yes' to our customers whether at pre- or post-sales, product, service or solution stage".

Darrell Smithson has risen through the MGE ranks.

16 years ago he started his career as a service engineer, working his way up from Service Sales Manager, to Customer Service Manager, and now Director of Sales.

Smithson brings to his new role not only in-depth technical knowledge, but also a profound understanding of what the customer really wants.

He says: "The MGE brand has been established for 40 years and is synonymous with quality".

"We are now building on our reputation and developing the brand to give our customers what they truly want - premium products at sensible prices, matched with a cradle to grave, 'can-do' service".

"Understanding our customers has always been a priority; now it is what drives us".

Robert Miller, newly appointed Director of Operations, is directly responsible for delivering high quality post-sales onsite service including maintenance, replacement and repair.

Using knowledge and experience gained during 17 years in the UPS industry, Miller's remit is to improve operational efficiency to meet and exceed customer expectations.

He is meeting regularly with MGE's larger customers and also spearheading the introduction of web-based core systems that will enable them to access online information about their UPS systems.

Miller says: "As well as improving information flow technically, we are also putting into place measures that will improve every type of communication between MGE personnel and our customers".

"Our project and service teams are being given additional training that will help them both identify and respond to opportunities to offer even better service to our customers".

In addition to the appointment of Smithson and Miller, Shri Karve has taken on the role of Director of Business Development and will be developing and nurturing long-term relationships with MGE UPS customers. Request free introductory details about products from MGE UPS Systems ...
