Move reflects closer integration with the Italian MarelliMotori manufacturing plant.
Electric motor specialist Amco Marelli has changed its operating name to Marelli UK.
The move reflects closer integration with the Italian manufacturing plant, MarelliMotori, and the continued strengthening of the Marelli brand within the FKI Energy Technology Group.
"With a track record of manufacturing excellence and experience stretching back more than 100 years, MarelliMotori is a leading supplier to the industrial, petrochemical and marine sectors", says General Manager, John Attenborough.
"Our product portfolio includes alternators rated up to 5000kVA, as well as a comprehensive range of electric motors for various applications up to 4000kW".
"The name change enables us to build on the existing success of our UK and Ireland operations, while enabling the Marelli brand to be strengthened worldwide".
"It also safeguards jobs, and I can confirm that all existing commercial relationships with suppliers and customers will remain unaffected by the change".
With a comprehensive variety of products available from stock at its principal site in Loughborough, Marelli UK supplies equipment to meet the demands of customers across the pump, fan, compressor, power generation, material handling, shipbuilding and process industries.
Another major market is the renewable energy sector, particularly hydroelectric power generation, which currently accounts for a growing contribution to the Marelli UK business.
The rebranding of the company's activities in the UK is further underpinned by the participation of Marelli UK at the forthcoming Drives and Controls Show.
"This will be the perfect platform to launch our new company name and branding", says Attenborough.
"In addition, we will be announcing a number of exciting product developments at the show that will reinforce our position as one of the leading alternator and electric motor suppliers in the UK and Ireland".
Developed and manufactured at the company's headquarters at Arzignano in northern Italy, MarelliMotori products are distributed worldwide through FKI group subsidiaries in USA, UK, Germany, South Africa and Malaysia.
