Major switchgear order for Nigeria
Schneider Electric has won a GBP 13 million order to replace much of Nigeria's electrical distribution network switchgear.
Schneider Electric has won a GBP 13 million order to replace much of Nigeria's electrical distribution network switchgear Nigeria's National Electrical Power Authority (NEPA) is modernising much of its network and has chosen Schneider Electric to supply equipment for sites throughout the country
The order involves 300 extensible ring main units from the Ringmaster range and 150 Ringmaster range panels; 52 switchboards comprising 364 Merlin Gerin Genie 11kV panels; and 40 33kV outdoor circuit breakers, as well as nearly 900 33kV outdoor current transformers and voltage transformers.
Over 500 control and relay panels are also being supplied, customised to NEPA's requirements and featuring the Merlin Gerin Sepam range of relays.
As part of the contract, Schneider Electric has trained Nigerian engineers in the installation of the equipment, which is currently being delivered to Nigeria.
