The newest member of the Mahr Federal family of multisensor measuring machines is designed to provide a cost-effective, mid-sized solution for high precision applications that require multiple modes of inspection Fully automatable, the MarVision MS 442 incorporates a CCD camera, TTL laser and mechanical touch probe sensor to provide industry-leading precision measurement in a robust design ideally suited for near-production line and work cell environments

"The Mahr Federal family of multisensor measuring machines are ideal for implants and surgical tool manufacturing applications, where multiple setups and a combination of contact and noncontact measurements are required", said Keith Parker, Business Development Manager for Multisensor Solutions at Mahr Federal.

"A multisensor machine like the MS 442 can inspect the part with a minimum number of fixtures and with minimal measurement uncertainty".

"This technology not only saves time, but lowers cost and removes measurement error from the inspection process, increasing the available manufacturing tolerance window that helps deliver a higher quality product to the end user".

Powerful, open-architecture style software in the MS 442 provides advanced measuring capability and supports the development of custom-tailored graphical user interfaces (GUI) to facilitate operator use.

MarSoft Vision 3D software for Windows 2000 provides: 2D and 3D geometric elements and functions, form and position tolerances, feature material conditioners, automatic teach mode, optional CAD-interface for automatic program generation and more.

To provide optimum stability, the MS 442 includes a measuring table and cross-axis of rigid granite.

All axes are equipped with precise roller bearings and precision, backlash-free DC servo drives.

Stage positioning at 250mm/s and 0.1 um linear scale resolution provide rapid and accurate part positioning with industry-leading precision in accordance with VDI/VDE2617 and ISO10360-2 standards.

Ample measurement volume of up to 16 x 16 x 8in allows inspection of a wide variety of parts.
