Probe speeds machine setup
The MarTest 802 EW measuring probe provides machine operators with a fast, easy way to set up their milling and EDM machines.
The new Mahr MarTest 802 EW measuring probe provides machine operators with a fast, easy way to set up their milling and EDM machines Available in both digital and mechanical versions, the 802 EW probe can be used for a number of setup functions, including: determining the zero position of the workpiece; determining the centre of a bore; correcting the position of a workpiece; providing measurement of lengths and depths; and providing information for angular calculations

Portable air gauge incorporates digital indicator
Mahr Federal has introduced a new concept in air gauging - portability.
The Mahr 802 EW measuring probe is placed in the milling machine and used to probe the workpiece in the workpiece fixture.
The probe measures in three dimensions simultaneously, providing the operator with clear, easy-to-read positioning data.
The display on the 802 EW is independent of the machine display, and can be used to find and set reference points for the machine.
On the digital version of the 802 EW, the display provides a progressive analogue bargraph for dynamic path information, while the large digital display allows easy reading even at long distances from the gauge.
Operation of the probe gage is extremely simple.
For example, to set the zero point of a workpiece, the operator positions the probe along the x-axis until it makes contact with the workpiece and the display reads zero.
The operator then sets the machine tool display to 0.000, and repeats this process with the y- and z-axes of the machine.
All models of the Mahr 802 EW measuring probe are IP65 rated for water resistance and are designed for tough in-machine tool applications.
The probe's high accuracy and linearity are suited for high performance machine tools, and its long range of 6mm in all axes prevents damage to the probe by accidental contacting errors.
Probe resolution at this range is 0.005mm.
