Servo drive offers performance and economy

The latest member of the Danaher motion control family is the ServoStar 200, offering impressive performance, compact performance - and at a surprisingly competitive price.

The latest member of the Danaher motion control family is the ServoStar 200.

It is packed full of technical innovation yet, even so, this servo drive comes at a price that belies its very compact size and impressive high performance.

Featuring an 800Hz velocity loop bandwidth, a 3-5kHz current loop bandwidth and a 24-bit feedback resolution it is able to provide ultra-smooth low-speed motion and rapid start-stop capability.

There is a choice of base velocity/torque drive or indexing drive with open network, a separate 'keep alive' logic power input for rapid emergency-stop recovery and optional CAN or DeviceNet position control.

In the same format as the P7000 stepper drive range, the PC graphical user interface (GUI) is used for set up (RS232) which is clearly a great advantage for combined technology projects.

Full fault diagnostics are also available via the graphical user interface.

The feedback technologies can be SFD (smart feedback device), Comcoder or Hall effect and selecting the SFD choice eliminates the need for servo tuning in most applications.

Furthermore when coupled with the new Danaher AKM servomotors and fitted with the SFD, the system only uses a single cable combing power and feedback signals.

All drives have UL508C and CE (EN50178, EN61800-3) recognition and the power package comes in either DC or AC each with two current rating options.
