The MAXp is a PCIbus-based controller which has up to eight axes of user definable servo and stepper motion control.

The MAXp is a PCIbus-based controller which has up to eight axes of user definable servo and stepper motion control The MAXp is built around a PowerPC 32bit RISC processor running at 266MHz because this processor delivers exceptional servo control capabilities, quality and application performance on multi-axis requirements

All signals, data points, as well as the PID loop update every 122us on all eight axes and each axis of the MAXp controller can be configured as a servo, open loop stepper, or a closed loop stepper.

The MAXp includes backlash compensation, also linear, parabolic, cosine S-curve and custom profiles.

It provides real-time encoder position capture and of course circular interpolation.

There are firmware upgrades and enhancements, the firmware can be upgraded in the field.

Other features include: optoisolated digital I/O via a high-density shielded 120-pin connector; 64Kbyte of shared memory; compatibility with both 3.3 and 5V PCIbus systems; 8Mbyte of system memory; four channels of general-purpose analogue input, with 16bit, 0-10V DC input; and support for quadrature encoder feedback up to 1MHz.
