Precision positioning table has two
carriages
The DXL linear motor table not only has outstanding carriage to carriage coplanar motion, ultraprecise velocity control and responsiveness, it also has selectable encoder resolutions down to 20nm.

Warpdrive offers flexibility in single package
Long-established drives supplier Superior Electric, have launched Warpdrive, their latest micro-stepping positioner, targeted at small OEM's and stand-alone applications
The DXL ensures superior carriage to carriage flatness and coplanar motion by providing a common precision ground base and bearing ways for both carriages.
Each carriage is independently driven by a cog-free, ironless linear motor to minimise velocity ripple and optimise responsiveness to match a complex motion profile.
Extremely high-resolution linear encoders provide the critical position data that allows superior velocity control and responsiveness necessary to optimise the precision control of the moving carriages.

Controller offers cycloidal, S shape move profiles
The Yaskawa MP940 1.5 Axis Controller offers cycloidal or S shape move profiles and has options for DeviceNet, Profibus, CANbus and CERF/mechatrolink network interfaces.
The twin carriages can be programmed to move in tandem, in opposing directions or independently with or without any ratio between the carriages.
The table is loaded with ease of use features designed to save time and effort.
The base includes a tooling edge parallel to the travel path and user tooling can be precisely located within 25um of the actual travel path of the positioner using the tooling reference features.
A unique cover design prevents contamination (such as small fibre strands) from entering the positioner.
The travel, limit to limit of the DXL is 35mm and it can carry a rated load of 150kg.
It has an incredible maximum acceleration of 19.6m/s2, peak force 44N and continuous force 19N.
Positional accuracy is 3mm and repeatability with the 0.1mm encoder is +/-0.5mm.
This versatile table is available with preconfigured digital servo drives that are compatible with all industry standard motion controllers.
All DXL units are shipped complete with performance certification and laser interferometer test reports.
The DXL can be used in many precision motion applications but is especially effective for the fibre optic industry applications where smooth, highly controlled velocity and motion path is employed for fusing fibres.
Other applications include medical device manufacturing and imaging applications where focal distance must be accurately controlled.
The other key features of this table are the cog-free linear motors with no moving cables, there are just one base and bearing way sets as they are common to both carriages and the extremely high resolution optical encoders with digital output.
The hard shell cover protects the internal components so giving the tables an IP30 rating making them suitable for clean room environments.
There is a home sensor aligned to encoder reference marker for precise homing and adjustable end of travel sensors.
The tooling reference surface is aligned within 25um of the actual travel path and has dowel holes on each carriage for easy mount of customer equipment.
