The Danaher Motion P7000 stepping motor drive is suitable for single or multi-axis applications that demand high-speed performance or low-speed smoothness.

The Danaher Motion P7000 stepping motor drive now available from Micromech is the latest upgrade of the company's digital step motor controls.

It provides system smoothness, functionality and high-speed performance.

It is designed to power any two-phase NEMA step motor.

It is suitable for single or multi-axis applications that demand high-speed performance or low-speed smoothness.

The P7000 AC drive accepts input voltage from 90 to 265V AC (1 phase, 50/60 Hz) for a broad range of power sources.

The continuous current is 2.5A and the microstep peak current is 3.5A.

It can provide a maximum shaft power of 525W and a speed range from 0 to 50rev/s.

The motor inductance ranges 50 to 200mH (320V DC bus) and 7 to 30mH (160V DC bus).

The DC version accepts input voltage from 20 to 75V DC, continuous current of 5A and a microstep peak current of 7.1A.

The speed range is the same at 0 to 50rev/s while the maximum shaft power is lower at 300W and motor inductance is 2 to 15mH.

While this compact P7000 is pre-configured for a full-line of standard Danaher stepper motors via on-board switches or easy to use graphical user interface (GUI), it can also power any two-phase NEMA step motor.

The drive also offers idle current reduction to lower motor heating and cut power consumption.

It has a motion profile generator making indexing capabilities available.

Stall detection therefore no encoder feedback is required and anti-resonance control which minimises mid-speed torque loss.

The designers have included motor wave shape tuning and current auto tuning to give low-speed smoothness.

To enhance the low-speed performance still further it has multi-stepping and high-resolution capability.
