Michell Instruments' Condumax II hydrocarbon and water dew-point analyser was voted technical innovation of the year at the recent Hazardex conference and award dinner.

Michell Instruments' Condumax II hydrocarbon and water dew-point analyser was voted technical innovation of the year at the recent Hazardex conference and award dinner The winner of this category is described as: "The most innovative product or service introduced into the hazardous area market place with effectiveness being demonstrated via application details"

This category was the most competitive of the four award categories, with 14 finalists represented.

The launch of Condumax II in September 2004 marked the climax of a three year development programme to enhance the existing Condumax and create the most advanced hydrocarbon dew-point analyser available today.

Extensive customer research pin-pointed the areas where the original Condumax could benefit from improvement, and new technologies have given Michell the opportunity to incorporate exciting new features in an instrument that is simple to install and operate.

As a result Condumax II is the world's first hydrocarbon and water dew-point analyser designed to operate wholly within a hazardous area.

ATEX certification was achieved with the help of JCE Aberdeen, who specialise in the construction, assessment and certification of products to be used in hazardous areas, Michell has achieved ATEX II 2G E ex d IIC T6, Zone 1 and 2 use.
