Michell extends Sensor Calibration programme

A Michell Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 19, 2008

Michell Instruments has extended its Sensor Calibration Exchange programme to the recently introduced Easidew TXIS dew point transmitter.

The key to the Michell's Calibration Exchange programme is the Easidew sensor technology.

Michell's Ceramic Moisture sensor is coupled with advanced microprocessor-based measurement circuitry to produce a fully calibrated and interchangeable sensor transmitter.

All calibration data is stored within the transmitter's flash memory and so calibration exchange, or service, can be affected in seconds, even by untrained personnel.

The Easidew TXIS is simply disconnected, removed from its sampling block and replaced by a fully calibrated unit.

When periodic re-certification is required to maintain traceability Michell will organise an individual exchange programme for the customer, so that the process is never out of operation.

The Easidew TXIS series incorporates features designed to simplify installation and operation.

The company said that on-going operating costs are low because of the transmitter's stability and reliability.

Dew point measurement is made as accessible as temperature and pressure with a fully configured and calibrated transmitter that can be instantly incorporated into an air or gas management and control system.

The Easidew TXIS is certified by Atex, CSA and FM Approvals for use in hazardous areas.

It can be safely used in virtually all industrial gas measurement applications.

The certification lists seven different galvanic isolators.

This allows the customer to choose the most suitable isolator to the correct hazardous/safe area interconnection.

The transmitter can be connected in a two-wire loop powered or three-wire configuration.

The Easidew TXIS also features a HDPE filter, designed to show contamination for service ease that is <10um porosity and impermeable to liquids.

The Sensor Calibration Exchange programme for Easidew TXIS makes it suitable for measurement of dew point or moisture content in all hazardous area applications where a calibration traceability of the used equipment is crucial.
