Gearmotors boast big torque in small packages

A new line of permanent magnet DC gearmotors claim high torque and superior performance in a compact package.

Micromark C and CD's latest line of permanent magnet DC gearmotors produce high torque and superior performance in a compact package.

The IM-21 gearmotor line incorporates powdered metal gearing to offer superior wear and acoustic performance at a lower cost compared with cut steel gears used by other manufacturers.

The IM-21 gearmotors from Globe Motors are available in rated voltage options, 12.0, 19.1, 24.0 and 30.3V DC, with five motor sizes and 10 different gear ratios up to 557.89:1 allowing designers to achieve the optimal motor performance in a wide variety of applications.

The IM-21 gearmotor produces up to a maximum continuous output torque of 21.2Nm.

With the maximum input speed of 6000rev/min, the gearbox options allow designers to satisfy low torque and high speed applications Micromark C and CD is able to supply IM-21 gearmotors configured to meet specific design requirements by including an optional brake, connector, encoder or shaft configuration.

The gearmotor performance can also be optimised for individual applications requiring high torque in a small package device such as factory automation, power transmission, positioning drives, mobility applications in the automotive accessory, commercial, industrial and medical markets.
