Low-cost process controllers simplify sensing jobs

A Micro-Epsilon UK product story

With the DD series, there is no need for a PC or PLC, because the values are calculated within the controller.

Micro-Epsilon has added five low-cost process controllers and indicators to its range, offering customers a comprehensive process control solution for all its displacement and temperature measurement sensors.

The company's DD series of controllers is designed to match the requirements of process control signal visualisation and post-processing of displacement measurement sensor signals.

The DD241PC is a single channel, six-digit controller suitable for use with both voltage and current input signals.

It has a 12-26V supply signal for powering the displacement sensors and has integrated limit and peak hold functions.

The DD245PC suits users who require a simple thickness calculation.

It accepts two sensor signal inputs, has a six-digit display, integrated mathematical processing functions, two sets of programmable limits, three programmable analogue, two switched and one RS232 output.

The DD214NE is a one or two-channel input controller for incremental digital inputs from TTL or HTL devices.

Similarly, this controller has a six-digit display and integrated process control functions, including limit setting.

For absolute encoder inputs such as SSI (binary or greyscale), the DD241NA is designed with the same functionality as the DD241NE.

The DD202TA is the final model in Micro-Epsilon's DD series.

It is designed to accept and evaluate two rotational/speed sensor signals.

The unit has integrated programming functions such as ratio, difference, stretching/shrinking, flow, time elapsed with start and stop signal, impulse rate measurement, period or impulse duration.

Chris Jones, Managing Director at Micro-Epsilon (UK) Limited said: "With the DD series, there is no need for a PC or PLC, the values are calculated within the controller".

"The DD series was developed with the most common functionality that users required".

"This means our target customers - process engineers, systems integrators and panel builders - get a much lower cost, quicker and less complex solution to their process control needs".
